This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you visit our website at https://www.lukesplumbingandgas.com.au or engage our plumbing and gas fitting services in Queensland.
This policy operates in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs).

When you contact us via our website, by phone, or in person, we may collect:

1.2 Information collected automatically
When you visit our website, limited technical information is processed by the services that host and protect it:
- Your IP address and general request data, handled by Cloudflare for security, spam protection and content delivery
- Content loaded from Google when a page shows a Google Maps embed (our contact and location pages)
We do not currently run website analytics or advertising tracking. If we add analytics in the future, we will update this policy and enable IP anonymisation.
1.3 Information we don't collect
We do not collect:
- Government identifiers (Medicare, driver licence, passport, tax file number)
- Financial account numbers (we don't process payments through this site)
- Information about your race, religion, political opinions, or similar sensitive matters
- Information about anyone under 16 (our services are for adult property owners)
If you accidentally send us sensitive information through our contact form, we will delete it within 30 days unless required to keep it for legal reasons.

- We never transfer your information overseas, except as part of the standard operation of the third-party services in Section 3.1 (for example, our CRM and hosting providers operate global infrastructure subject to their standard contractual terms).

We retain your information for as long as necessary to provide our services and comply with legal obligations.

5.1 Cookies we use
- Essential cookies: required for the site to function and to protect it from spam and abuse (for example, Cloudflare Turnstile tokens). These cannot be disabled without breaking the site.
- Embedded content: pages that show a Google Maps embed load content from Google, which may set its own cookies. This only happens on the contact and location pages.
5.2 Why we don't show a cookie banner
Australian privacy law (Privacy Act 1988 and the Australian Privacy Principles) does not require a cookie consent banner of the type used in the EU or UK under GDPR. Our disclosure obligation under APP 5 is met by this Privacy Policy, which is linked from every page of our website. As we currently set only essential and embedded-content cookies, there is nothing to opt into.
6. Your choices and rights
6.1 Tracking and analytics
We do not currently run analytics or advertising cookies. If that changes, this policy will be updated first. To limit tracking on any website in general, you can:
- Use browser extensions like uBlock Origin or Privacy Badger
- Use your browser's private or incognito mode (which clears cookies on close)
We do not respond to browser "Do Not Track" signals.
6.2 Opt out of marketing
Every marketing email we send includes an unsubscribe link. You can also email us at lukesplumbing3@gmail.com to be removed from all marketing lists.
