No hot water at all. Water that never quite gets hot enough. A tank weeping onto the slab. A pilot light that won't stay lit, or a thermostat with a mind of its own. Some of these are ten-minute fixes and some mean the unit's done; the trick is knowing which, before money gets spent.
Repairs first, replacement when it's earnt
Not every problem means a new system. We repair no hot water, water that won't get hot enough, leaking tanks, pilot lights that won't stay lit, and faulty thermostats. If it's a quick fix, we'll fix it rather than sell you a unit you don't need.
When replacement is the right call, we supply and install gas, electric, solar and heat pump systems, with trusted brands including Rheem, Bosch, Dux and Rinnai. Like-for-like swaps can usually happen the same day. Heat pump and solar cost more upfront but cut running costs long term, and heat pumps are often eligible for government rebates.
Matching the system to the household
The right unit comes down to household size, budget, and whether you're on mains gas. Couples usually sit around 125 to 160L; a family of four typically needs 250 to 315L; continuous flow gas never runs out. On acreage without mains gas, heat pump and solar earn their keep fastest. We work all of that out with you on site, not from a brochure.

Repair or replace: the honest maths
Under about 8 years old with a minor fault? Repairing usually makes sense. Past 10 to 12 years, leaking from the tank itself, or on its second or third repair? Replacement is the smarter spend, because you'd be pouring repair money into a unit near the end of its life. We'll tell you straight which way to go, and you'll have the full price before any work starts.

Hot water questions
My hot water system is leaking. Is it an emergency?
A leaking tank usually means the unit's near the end of its life. Turn off the water supply to the unit and call us; we'll prioritise getting a replacement sorted before you're left cold.
How long does a hot water system last?
Most electric and gas storage systems last 8 to 12 years. Continuous flow gas units and heat pumps can run longer with servicing. If yours is in that range and playing up, plan the replacement before it decides the timing for you.
Which hot water system is cheapest to run?
Heat pump and solar have the lowest running costs over time, though they cost more upfront. Gas usually beats electric on running costs if you're on mains gas.
What size hot water system do I need?
