Excavation Services in Toowoomba

A 1.7-tonne Kubota and tipper truck for trenching, septic installs and tight-access site work.

Licence: 15262942 (the digging and the plumbing carry the same licence)

The hole is half the job

Most underground plumbing work lives or dies on the dig. Hand digging a sewer trench takes days; a full-size machine can't fit down the side of a Toowoomba house; and hiring a separate excavation contractor means two trades pointing at each other when something's off by 100mm. We run our own 1.7-tonne excavator and tipper truck, so the digging and the plumbing answer to the same person.

Machine work we take on

  • Trenching for water, sewer and drainage lines
  • Septic tank and treatment plant excavation
  • Soakage trench and absorption area installation
  • Site preparation for new builds and renovations
  • Tipper truck services for soil and debris removal
  • Excavator hire for plumbing and construction work

Tight blocks, acreage and builders

The Kubota U17-3 is a tight-access machine: backyards, side passages, established gardens you'd rather keep. Acreage owners use us for septic and drainage installs; builders bring us in for trenching and site prep where a bigger machine is overkill.

Before a bucket touches the ground

  1. Site look and mark-out.

We check the utility plans and mark what's below before anything gets dug.

  2. Quote the dig and the plumbing together.

One price covering trench, pipe and backfill, not three contractors' worth of margins.

  3. Dig, lay, connect.

The machine opens it, the licensed plumbing goes in, and everything is inspected before it's covered.

  4. Backfill and cart away.

The tipper removes spoil and the site gets left tidy.

Job-priced, with hire by the hour

Excavation attached to a plumbing job (a sewer repair, a septic install) gets quoted as one job so you can see the whole cost upfront. Straight excavator hire is charged by the hour; the rate's in the FAQ below.

The excavator and tipper are ours, sitting on the trailer ready to go, which is why a collapsed sewer line doesn't have to wait on a hire company's calendar. You'll see the same machine in the job photos across this site because it earns its keep weekly.

Excavation questions

Can I hire your excavator?

Yes, the 1.7-tonne mini excavator is available for hire at $110+GST per hour. Tipper truck services are also available; call for pricing and availability.

What size jobs suit a 1.7-tonne machine?

Trenches, septic digs, stump-free site prep and anything on a tight block where a bigger machine can't reach. For broadacre earthmoving you'd want heavier gear, and we'll say so rather than grind away at the wrong scale.

Do you install septic systems?

Yes, from the excavation through to the plumbing connections: septic tanks, treatment plants, and soakage trench and absorption area installation on rural properties.

What happens to the soil you dig out?

The tipper truck carts spoil and debris away as part of the job, so you're not left with a mound where the lawn used to be.

Need a hole and the pipe that goes in it?

Describe the job and the access, and Luke will tell you whether the 1.7-tonne machine is the right fit and what the whole thing costs.

Takes less than 60 seconds. No obligation.
