Finished renovated bathroom with new tapware and fixtures

The part of the reno you can't see later

Tiles and tapware get all the attention, but the pipes behind them decide whether the bathroom still works in ten years. Plumbing done out of sequence holds up every other trade, and plumbing done badly announces itself through a water stain long after the tiler's been paid.

What we cover, plumbing rough-in to final fit-off

  • Relocating or adding water and drainage lines for the new layout
  • Shower installations and shower screen plumbing
  • Toilet, vanity, bath and tapware fit-off
  • Flexible hose and isolation valve installation
  • Water efficiency certificates and compliance
  • Pressure testing before the walls close up

To be clear about scope: we're the plumber on your renovation, not the project manager. Your builder or you run the reno; we make sure the wet side of it is right.

Renovators with a plan and owner-builders

Homeowners renovating with a builder, and owner-builders running their own job, both need the same two visits from us at the right moments. If you're after someone to manage the whole renovation end to end, that's not us, and we'd rather say so here than on site.

Two visits, timed right

  1. Walk-through and quote.

We look at the existing layout, your new plan and fixture list, and quote the plumbing work. Written quotes stay valid for 30 days.

  2. Rough-in.

Once the room is stripped and framed, the new water and drainage lines go in, then get pressure-tested.

  3. Fit-off.

After waterproofing and tiling, we return to fit the toilet, tapware, shower and vanity, and commission the lot.

Quoted from the plan, not sprung on the invoice

Bathroom plumbing is quoted from the plan: what's moving, what's staying, and what you're installing. Moving a toilet or shower costs more than replacing one in place, because it means new drainage, and we'll show you that difference in the quote rather than absorb it into a vague number.

Renovation plumbing questions

Do you manage the whole bathroom renovation?

No, and we won't pretend to. We do the plumbing: rough-in, fit-off and certification. Your builder, or you as owner-builder, coordinates the other trades. We're happy to work in with whoever's running the job.

Can you move the toilet or shower to a new spot?

Yes. Moving fixtures means new drainage and water lines, which is exactly what the rough-in stage is for. Access under the floor decides how big a job it is, and the quote will spell that out.

When should I book the plumber in a renovation?

Before demolition starts, ideally. Rough-in has to happen after stripping and framing but before sheeting and waterproofing, so the earlier we're in the schedule, the smoother the reno runs.

Do I get compliance paperwork?

Yes. Water efficiency certificates and compliance documentation are part of the job, along with a licensed plumber's work standing behind everything in the walls.
